PYRENEAN HONEYSUCKLE (endemic to the Pyrenees)

Foliage: small, blue-green oblong leaves.
Flowers: pinkish cream to white, sweet-scented. They grow in pairs, making attractive bouquets which flower from May through to July.
Size: shrub around 1 metre tall

Habitat: Pyrenean honeysuckle grows in the cracks of limestone rocks.
In the Pyrenees: in the west and centre of the range, from hill level (below 800 m) up to alpine level (2,300 m).
Typical companions: ramonda, Pyrenean saxifrage, petrocoptis, globularia repens, dwarf buckthorn, androsace hirsuta, Pyrenean bellflower, potentilla alchemilloides, kernera saxatilis, bupleurum angulosum...
