Habitat:
Scots pine likes the heat and moisture of low-lying hills. Dry pine forests are at great risk from forest fires.
In the Pyrenees:
often found on the French side in the east, Cerdagne and Capcir, but especially on the Spanish side of the range. In the central and eastern Pyrenees, Scots pine is less at home and grows in the most tortuous shapes.
