from 80 to 130 cm long; height at withers 60 to 75 cm.

Weight:
from 18 to 25 kg.

Distinctive features:
its seclusive nature. The lynx is a solitary animal, though the female is accompanied by her young.

  Reproduction:
the female gives birth to two or three kittens.

Food:
the lynx is strictly carnivorous: it hunts by stalking its prey or making short dashes to catch hares, rodents or even roe deer and chamois.

  Habitat:forests.
